Karlene has been involved at King Community Campus for more than 30 years. Starting as a volunteer in the afterschool program, then as the coordinator for Project Success Program.
Before coming to BGC she worked for 4 ½ years in the States Attorney Office as the Victim Witness Coordinator. At BGC she is employed as the Community Committee Development Specialist in the Community Youth Services Program. In this position she helps volunteers and community residents become more involved in their community to prevent juvenile delinquency and youth violence.
Karlene knows the impact youth can have if they are engaged, “I know that all children and their families have diverse challenges and goals, and if they can accomplish them what it will mean to this community”.
“I like people, especially youth because their minds are still developing”.
